What to expect afterwards

Safety, and the part nobody enjoys discussing

The lips are a vascular area. The complication that matters is vascular occlusion, where product interrupts blood supply — rare, time-critical, and manageable if the person treating you is trained and has hyaluronidase on site. Ask any clinic that question before you book, not after.

Hyaluronic acid filler can also be dissolved if you are unhappy or if migration occurs, which is one reason permanent products are not used in lips.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is used and most products contain local anaesthetic. Most people describe pressure rather than sharp pain.

Will everyone know?
