Service Description
WHAT IT IS Mesotherapy applied to body areas — most commonly the inner arms, abdomen and legs — using a cocktail formulated to improve skin firmness, hydration and texture in areas where skin has become loose or crepey. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Body skin has very few effective non-surgical options, and the inner arms and abdomen in particular are areas patients dislike and assume nothing can be done about. Mesotherapy will not replace surgery, but it genuinely improves skin quality. WHAT WE AIM FOR Firmer, better-hydrated skin over the treated body area with improved texture and reduced crepiness, developed across a course. WHO IT SUITS · Crepey inner arms · Loose abdominal skin after pregnancy or weight loss · Thigh and knee skin quality · Wanting improvement without surgery · Supporting the result of body contouring treatments TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 30–45 minutes Discomfort: Numbing cream applied Downtime: Redness and small bumps for a few hours First results: After 3 sessions Sessions: Course of 4–6, two weeks apart Covers: One body area per session FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Will this tighten significantly loose skin? No. Mesotherapy improves skin quality and modest firmness; it does not lift substantially loose skin. Where laxity is significant, HIFU body contouring or a surgical opinion is the honest answer, and Dr Selvi will tell you which category you are in. Can it be combined with HIFU? Yes, and the combination is often the strongest non-surgical plan — HIFU tightens the deeper support while mesotherapy improves the skin itself. How many sessions will I need? Mesotherapy is a course treatment — a single session produces very little. Most protocols run to four to six sessions, two to four weeks apart, followed by maintenance every few months. Dr Selvi will set out your schedule at consultation. Does it hurt? Numbing cream is applied first and most patients tolerate it well. You will feel multiple small pinpricks across the area; it is brief and finishes quickly. What does it look like afterwards? Expect redness and small raised bumps at the injection points for a few hours, occasionally into the next day. Small bruises are possible. Avoid make-up for 12 hours. Can I go straight back to work? Usually yes, though you may prefer to book it for later in the day if you would rather the redness had settled before being seen. What are the risks? Redness, small bumps, bruising and short-lived tenderness are common. Infection is rare with proper technique and aftercare. All risks are explained before you consent. Who will treat me? All injectable treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
