WHAT THE CONSULTATION COVERS A face-to-face consultation with Dr Selvi about bunny lines — the fine lines on the sides of the nose that appear when you smile, laugh or scrunch your nose. He looks at the area with expression, considers how it relates to the frown and eye areas, and asks about your medical history and medicines. WHO IT MAY SUIT · Lines on the sides of the nose when you smile or laugh · Bunny lines that have become more noticeable after treatment elsewhere · Wanting to understand whether the area should be considered with the frown lines · A first appointment for lines on the nose WHAT HAPPENS IF TREATMENT IS APPROPRIATE If a prescription-only treatment is appropriate, Dr Selvi prescribes and administers it himself after a face-to-face assessment; if it is not, he will say so and discuss alternatives. If treatment is given, any effect is usually visible within 3–7 days, fully seen at about 14 days and typically lasts 3–4 months. TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: Up to 60 minutes Assessment: Face-to-face with Dr Selvi, including medical history, current medicines and how your face moves Downtime: Usually little or none; avoid rubbing the area for 24 hours and stay upright for at least 4 hours after treatment FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Why can bunny lines become more noticeable? When nearby areas such as the frown lines are treated, some people use the muscles on the sides of the nose more. Dr Selvi looks at the areas together. What are the risks? Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising are common. Rarely, the treatment can affect the upper lip, making the smile look temporarily uneven. Is it suitable for everyone? No. Dr Selvi will tell you if he does not think treatment is the right option for your lines. Who is it not suitable for? Treatment is not given to anyone under 18, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain neuromuscular conditions or medicines. Dr Selvi checks this at the consultation. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by Dr Selvi, a doctor, after a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
