Dimpled (Orange-Peel) Chin — Consultation
Doctor consultation for a dimpled, orange-peel texture on the chin, with treatment if appropriate.
Service Description
WHAT THE CONSULTATION COVERS A face-to-face consultation with Dr Selvi about a dimpled or orange-peel texture on the chin. This can relate to activity of the chin muscle, to volume loss in the chin, or to both, and the options differ. Depending on the assessment, Dr Selvi may discuss a prescription-only treatment, dermal filler, or a combination. WHO IT MAY SUIT · A dimpled or uneven texture on the chin · Chin dimpling that shows more when you speak or purse your lips · Wanting to understand whether muscle or volume is the main factor · A first appointment about the chin WHAT HAPPENS IF TREATMENT IS APPROPRIATE If a prescription-only treatment is appropriate, Dr Selvi prescribes and administers it himself after a face-to-face assessment; if it is not, he will say so and discuss alternatives. For the prescription-only option, if treatment is given, any effect is usually visible within 3–7 days, fully seen at about 2 weeks and typically lasts 3–4 months. Filler shows an immediate change, settles over 1–2 weeks and typically lasts 6–12 months, depending on the product. TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: Up to 60 minutes Assessment: Face-to-face, looking at the chin at rest and with movement, plus medical history and medicines Comfort: Numbing cream can be applied Downtime: Usually little or none; avoid touching the area for 24 hours and strenuous exercise for a day FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Which option is right for me? That depends on whether muscle activity, volume loss or both are involved. Dr Selvi will explain his recommendation, and the alternatives, before anything is done. What are the risks? Temporary redness, swelling or bruising are common. With the prescription-only option, the lower lip or smile can rarely feel or look temporarily uneven. With filler, small lumps can occur and, rarely, filler can block a blood vessel, which needs urgent treatment; Dr Selvi explains how this risk is managed. Is it suitable for everyone? No. Dr Selvi will tell you if he does not think treatment is the right option for your chin. Who is it not suitable for? Treatment is not given to anyone under 18, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain neuromuscular conditions or medicines. Dr Selvi checks this at the consultation. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by Dr Selvi, a doctor, after a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability. BOOKING Book online, or start with a free initial consultation if you are unsure which option is right for you. Prices are a guide and are confirmed after assessment.
