Service Description
WHAT IT IS Earlobe filler at Dr Selvi Clinic in Brighton uses a small amount of hyaluronic acid filler to restore volume to thin, flattened or wrinkled earlobes. It is a Classic Range treatment carried out by Dr Selvi after a free initial consultation and an assessment of the earlobe. Filler adds volume to an intact lobe. It does not repair a split or torn earlobe, and it does not close a stretched piercing; those are different problems that need a different approach, which Dr Selvi can discuss with you. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Earlobes can thin and lose volume with age, and as they do, earrings may no longer sit as they used to. Restoring a little fullness is a small, focused treatment for a change many people notice in the mirror. WHAT WE AIM FOR Fuller, smoother earlobes that look in proportion with the ear, with both sides matched as closely as your anatomy allows. WHO IT SUITS · Thin, flattened or wrinkled earlobes · Earlobes that have lost volume over time · Earrings that no longer sit as they used to · People with an intact earlobe that is not split or torn TREATMENT DETAILS Treatment time: Typically 30–45 minutes, including preparation Discomfort: Numbing cream applied; most fillers also contain local anaesthetic Downtime: Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising for a few days Final result: 1–2 weeks, once swelling has settled Duration: Typically 6–12 months, depending on the product used Earrings: Dr Selvi will advise when to start wearing them again FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Can filler fix a torn or split earlobe? No. Filler adds volume to an intact lobe; it does not repair a split, a tear or a stretched piercing hole. Can I wear earrings afterwards? Yes, once the area has settled. Dr Selvi will tell you when to start wearing earrings again, and whether heavier earrings are sensible for your earlobes. Does it hurt? Most people describe pressure rather than pain. Numbing cream is applied beforehand and the filler usually contains local anaesthetic. What are the risks? Mild swelling, tenderness and bruising are the most common effects. As with any filler, there is a rare risk of vascular occlusion, where filler blocks or presses on a small blood vessel and reduces the blood supply to the skin. Signs include skin turning pale or blotchy, or pain out of proportion; hyaluronidase is kept on site so this can be treated immediately. Is it reversible? Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if there is a complication or if you are unhappy with the result once it has settled. How long does it last? Typically 6–12 months, depending on the product used. A small top-up can maintain the result. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by Dr Selvi, a doctor, after a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
