Ellansé cannot be dissolved, and with a two-year duration that is a serious consideration. This is why Dr Selvi treats conservatively, will often recommend starting with a reversible hyaluronic acid filler to confirm you like the shape, and will decline to treat if you seem uncertain. Is longer-lasting automatically better? Not necessarily. Faces change, and a product you cannot remove commits you for two years. For a first treatment, or if you are still deciding what you want, a reversible option is usually the wiser choice. How is a biostimulator different from filler? Filler adds volume immediately — the gel itself is what you see. A biostimulator adds very little volume at first; it prompts your own body to produce new collagen over the following months. The result builds slowly and is your own tissue, which is why it looks and moves naturally. Why does it take so long to see a result? Because collagen production is a biological process, not a mechanical one. Expect the first visible change at around six to eight weeks and the full result at three to four months. Nodules under the skin are the main specific risk with this class of product; they are uncommon with correct technique and dosing, and are manageable.
