Service Description

WHAT IT IS An ultrasound scan that locates hyaluronic acid filler already in the tissue — including product injected years ago, product that has migrated from where it was placed, and product the patient has forgotten about or was never told the details of. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Old filler frequently does not stay where it was put, and it frequently lasts far longer than the treating clinic promised. Before dissolving, before adding new filler, or when something simply looks wrong, knowing exactly where the existing product sits changes the entire plan. WHAT WE AIM FOR A precise picture of what filler is present, where it is, how much there is and whether it has migrated — so that dissolving is targeted rather than a blanket approach, and new treatment is planned around reality. WHO IT SUITS · Unexplained puffiness, particularly under the eyes · Lips or face that look different from the intended result · Planning to dissolve filler · Filler placed elsewhere, with unknown product or volume · Lumps or firmness after a previous treatment TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 20–30 minutes Discomfort: None Downtime: None Results: Reviewed with you on screen during the appointment Pairs with: Filler Dissolving (Hyaluronidase) — £169 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Can ultrasound really see filler? Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler has a distinctive appearance on ultrasound and can be identified, measured and located within the tissue layers with considerable accuracy. I was told my filler had 'dissolved on its own'. Is that possible? Filler does break down over time, but it very often persists far longer than expected — product from several years ago is regularly found still present on scanning. Under-eye filler in particular can remain for many years. Why not just dissolve everything? Because hyaluronidase also affects your own natural hyaluronic acid in the tissue, and over-dissolving has consequences for skin quality and volume. Knowing precisely where the product sits means using the smallest effective dose in the right place. Will I be able to see the images? Yes. Dr Selvi will show you the scan and explain exactly what is where before any decision about dissolving is made. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
