WHAT IT IS An extended assessment taking a functional medicine approach — a detailed review of your history, symptoms, lifestyle, nutrition and any existing test results, looking for the underlying contributors to persistent symptoms rather than treating each symptom in isolation. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Some patients have a collection of persistent problems — fatigue, digestive symptoms, skin flare-ups, poor sleep, hair loss — that have each been looked at separately without anyone joining them together. This appointment allows the time to do that. WHAT WE AIM FOR A joined-up picture of what may be driving your symptoms, a recommendation on what investigation would be useful, and a structured plan. It is a different framework, focusing on underlying contributors and how body systems interact. It should sit alongside conventional care rather than replacing it. Dr Selvi will be clear about what is well established and what is more exploratory, and will not discourage you from conventional treatment. Will you tell me to stop my medication? No. Any change to prescribed medication is a matter for the doctor who prescribed it. Dr Selvi will not advise you to stop treatment your GP or specialist has prescribed. Are tests included in the price? No — the consultation fee covers the appointment. Any recommended testing is quoted separately, and you will be told the cost before anything is arranged. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
