Gouri (Liquid PCL)
Liquid Collagen. Full-Face Coverage. Gouri is a polycaprolactone-based injectable in fully liquid form.
Service Description
WHAT IT IS Gouri is a polycaprolactone-based injectable in fully liquid form, which allows it to spread naturally through the tissue rather than sitting where it is placed. It is delivered through a small number of injection points and disperses across the whole face, stimulating collagen broadly rather than in one location. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT It treats the face as a whole rather than as a set of separate areas, and because it is liquid it does not create volume or change your shape — it improves the quality, firmness and elasticity of the skin itself. Patients who fear looking 'done' find this reassuring. WHAT WE AIM FOR Firmer, more elastic, better-quality facial skin across the whole face, with improved glow and reduced fine lines — without any change to your facial proportions. WHO IT SUITS · Wanting improved skin quality rather than volume · Fear of looking overfilled or altered · Generalised loss of firmness and elasticity · A first step into regenerative treatment · Both women and men seeking a subtle result TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 30–45 minutes Discomfort: Numbing cream applied Downtime: Minimal; possible small bruises First results: 4–6 weeks Full result: 3 months Duration: 12 months Sessions: A course of 3, one month apart, is recommended FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Will it change the shape of my face? No, and that is the point. Gouri is liquid and disperses through the tissue, so it improves skin quality without adding contour or volume anywhere. Should I have the single session or the course of three? The course of three delivers substantially the better result and is what is recommended clinically — it is also priced at £899 rather than £1,047, saving over £145. A single session is a reasonable way to try it first. How is a biostimulator different from filler? Filler adds volume immediately — the gel itself is what you see. A biostimulator adds very little volume at first; it prompts your own body to produce new collagen over the following months. The result builds slowly and is your own tissue, which is why it looks and moves naturally. Why does it take so long to see a result? Because collagen production is a biological process, not a mechanical one. Expect the first visible change at around six to eight weeks and the full result at three to four months. Patience here is not a drawback — it is why nobody can tell you had anything done. Is it reversible? No. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, biostimulators cannot be dissolved. This is why conservative dosing and an experienced injector matter, and why Dr Selvi will assess carefully whether you are a suitable candidate. Do I need to massage afterwards? For most biostimulators, yes — usually five minutes, five times a day, for five days. Dr Selvi will give you specific aftercare instructions for your product, and following them properly matters for an even result. What are the risks? Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common and settle within days. Nodules under the skin are the main specific risk with this class of product; they are uncommon with correct technique and dosing, and are manageable. All risks will be explained fully before you consent. Who will treat me? All injectable treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
