HIFU Eye Area (Brow Lift)
Open the Eyes. Lift the Brow. HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound.
Service Description
WHAT IT IS HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It delivers precisely targeted ultrasound energy to the deep support layer of the skin — the same layer a surgeon tightens during a facelift — without breaking the surface. The heat triggers a controlled repair response, and over the following months your own collagen rebuilds and contracts, lifting the tissue from within. Delivered at shallower, carefully controlled depths around the delicate eye area, where the skin is thinnest on the entire body. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT A heavy, descending brow makes the eyes look smaller and the whole face look tired — an effect that no amount of concealer corrects. Lifting the brow is one of the highest-impact small changes in facial aesthetics. WHAT WE AIM FOR A subtly lifted brow, a more open upper eyelid, and a more awake, rested appearance — without any change to your natural expression. WHO IT SUITS · A heavy or low brow · Hooding of the upper eyelid · Looking tired regardless of how much sleep you get · Wanting a lift without surgery or injections TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment 30–45 minutes Discomfort Mild to moderate Downtime None First results Gradual from 4 weeks; final at ~3 months Duration 12–18 months Sessions Usually one; annual maintenance FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is HIFU safe around the eyes? Yes, when performed by a trained doctor using appropriate depths. Treatment is delivered to the brow and the bony orbital rim area, never over the eyeball itself, and protective measures are used throughout. How does it compare with a brow lift using injections? Anti-wrinkle injections lift the brow by relaxing the muscles that pull it down — fast, but temporary and limited in how much lift is achievable. HIFU tightens the tissue itself. They can be combined for a greater effect. Is it painful? Most patients describe brief waves of heat or a deep prickling sensation as the energy is delivered. It is manageable without anaesthetic, and it stops the moment the applicator lifts. Bony areas such as the jawline and forehead are the most sensitive. How soon will I see a result? There is often a mild immediate tightening from the initial tissue response, but the real change is gradual. Collagen remodelling builds over 8 to 12 weeks, with the final result at around three months. How long does it last? Typically 12 to 18 months, depending on your age, skin quality and lifestyle. HIFU does not stop ageing — it resets the clock, and an annual session maintains the result. Is there any downtime? None in practical terms. Some patients have mild redness or a slightly tender, bruised feeling under the skin for a few days. You can wear make-up and return to work the same day. Who should not have HIFU? It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over active infection or open lesions in the treatment area, or where there are metal implants or an implanted electrical device in the region. Dr Selvi will confirm your suitability at consultation. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
