HIFU Facelift — Full Face
Non-Surgical Facelift. Lift and Tighten. HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound.
Service Description
WHAT IT IS HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It delivers precisely targeted ultrasound energy to the deep support layer of the skin — the same layer a surgeon tightens during a facelift — without breaking the surface. The heat triggers a controlled repair response, and over the following months your own collagen rebuilds and contracts, lifting the tissue from within. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT It is the closest non-surgical treatment to a facelift for patients who are not ready for surgery — no incisions, no general anaesthetic, no weeks of recovery. Where fillers add volume, HIFU lifts and tightens what you already have, which is why the result reads as "you, rested" rather than treated. WHAT WE AIM FOR A firmer, more lifted mid-face and jawline, softer nasolabial folds, and tighter skin quality across the whole face — achieved gradually so the change looks natural to the people around you. WHO IT SUITS · Early skin laxity and a jawline that is starting to soften · A tired or 'dropped' look through the cheeks and mid-face · Wanting a lift without surgery, needles or downtime · Ages roughly 35–60 with mild to moderate sagging · Maintaining a previous surgical facelift result TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment 60–90 minutes Discomfort Moderate, brief — no anaesthetic needed Downtime None First results Gradual from 4 weeks; final at ~3 months Duration 12–18 months Sessions Usually one; annual maintenance FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is HIFU really comparable to a facelift? It is not a replacement for surgery. A surgical facelift removes skin; HIFU tightens the skin you have. For mild to moderate laxity the visible improvement can be considerable, but if there is significant excess skin, surgery remains the more effective option — and Dr Selvi will tell you that honestly at consultation. Can I combine it with fillers or Botox? Yes, and the combination is often the strongest plan. HIFU lifts and tightens the structure; fillers restore lost volume; Botox softens movement lines. They address different problems and work well together. Is it painful? Most patients describe brief waves of heat or a deep prickling sensation as the energy is delivered. It is manageable without anaesthetic, and it stops the moment the applicator lifts. Bony areas such as the jawline and forehead are the most sensitive. How soon will I see a result? There is often a mild immediate tightening from the initial tissue response, but the real change is gradual. Collagen remodelling builds over 8 to 12 weeks, with the final result at around three months. How long does it last? Typically 12 to 18 months, depending on your age, skin quality and lifestyle. HIFU does not stop ageing — it resets the clock, and an annual session maintains the result. Is there any downtime? None in practical terms. Some patients have mild redness or a slightly tender, bruised feeling under the skin for a few days. You can wear make-up and return to work the same day. Who should not have HIFU? It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over active infection or open lesions in the treatment area, or where there are metal implants or an implanted electrical device in the region. Dr Selvi will confirm your suitability at consultation. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
