Service Description
WHAT IT IS A comprehensive six-week acne programme combining three clinical peels, six LED sessions and a structured home-care plan, delivered on a planned schedule with the strength adjusted as your skin responds. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Acne responds best to several mechanisms working at once — clearing the pores, reducing the bacteria, controlling the inflammation, and correcting what you are doing at home. Treating one of those in isolation is why so many single-treatment courses disappoint. WHAT WE AIM FOR A substantial reduction in active acne over six weeks, calmer and less inflamed skin, improved post-acne marking, and a home routine that maintains the result. WHO IT SUITS · Moderate acne needing a comprehensive approach · Having tried single treatments without lasting results · Wanting to address acne properly in one planned course · Preparing skin ahead of an event two to three months away · Both active acne and post-acne marking TREATMENT DETAILS Includes: 3 clinical peels, 6 LED sessions, home-care plan Over: 6 weeks Appointments: Approximately 9 visits Discomfort: Peels sting briefly; LED is painless Downtime: Light flaking after each peel First results: From week 3 Full result: At the end of the programme and beyond Value: Better than booking the components separately FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is this enough for severe acne? For severe nodulocystic or scarring acne, probably not on its own — that usually needs oral prescription treatment under dermatology supervision. Dr Selvi will assess you at the start and will tell you honestly if this programme is not the right level of treatment for what you have. Are the home-care products included? The plan is included; the products are separate. Dr Selvi will recommend specifically and will not push products you do not need. What if I miss a session? Tell us and we will reschedule. The programme is built around a schedule but there is reasonable flexibility — it is better to move a session than to skip it. Will my acne get worse before it gets better? Sometimes, yes. A short purging phase in the first two to four weeks is common as treatment brings existing congestion to the surface faster. It is expected and temporary — stopping at that point is the most common reason people conclude a treatment 'did not work'. How long before I see real improvement? Acne treatment takes time because the skin cycle takes time. Expect meaningful change at six to eight weeks and a clear result at three months. Anyone promising clearance in a fortnight is selling you something. Does what I eat matter? For some people, yes — particularly high-glycaemic foods and, in some individuals, dairy. The evidence is real but the effect varies considerably between people. Dr Selvi will discuss it as part of your assessment rather than issuing a blanket rule. Will I need to change my skincare? Almost certainly, and this is often the most valuable part of the consultation. Many people with acne are using products that make it worse — heavy moisturisers, harsh scrubs, or over-cleansing that strips and inflames the skin. When would you refer me elsewhere? Severe nodulocystic acne, acne that is scarring, and acne that has not responded to appropriate treatment may need oral prescription therapy under dermatology supervision. Dr Selvi will tell you if that is what you need rather than putting you through a course that will not be enough. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability. BOOKING Book online, or start with the free 15-minute initial consultation if you are unsure which treatment is right for you.
