Service Description

WHAT IT IS An intravenous infusion of glutathione, an antioxidant produced naturally by the body, given following a medical assessment. Glutathione has a recognised role in antioxidant defence and in the body's detoxification pathways. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Patients seek it for its antioxidant properties and its role in skin health. It is important to understand what is established and what is not before choosing it, and that conversation is part of the assessment. WHAT WE AIM FOR Antioxidant support as part of a wider wellness and skin-health plan, delivered under medical supervision after individual assessment. WHO IT SUITS · Interest in antioxidant support · Wanting a doctor-supervised rather than unregulated treatment · As part of a broader skin-health plan · Willing to have a full assessment first TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 60 minutes Assessment: Medical assessment required — treatment is not given without it Discomfort: Cannula insertion Downtime: None Frequency: Advised individually FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Will this lighten my skin? Skin-lightening claims for intravenous glutathione are not supported by robust evidence, and UK regulators have raised safety concerns specifically about unlicensed intravenous products marketed for skin whitening. Dr Selvi will not offer or market this treatment as a skin-lightening product, and will explain the actual evidence base at your assessment so you can decide with accurate information. Why does the assessment matter so much here? Because this is an area where unregulated providers operate and where patients have been harmed by unlicensed products. A medical assessment, a doctor administering the treatment, and an honest conversation about the evidence are the safeguards. What if I decide against it after the assessment? That is a perfectly reasonable outcome and no treatment will proceed. The assessment exists so that you can make an informed decision, not to sell you something. Do I need a consultation first? Yes. Intravenous and injectable nutrient therapies require a medical assessment of your suitability, your medical history and your medications before any treatment is given. This is not a walk-in service. Is this a substitute for medical treatment? No. These are wellness treatments, not treatments for diagnosed medical conditions. If you have symptoms that concern you, see your GP — and tell Dr Selvi about any diagnosis or medication at your assessment. What are the risks? Bruising, discomfort at the injection or cannula site, and occasionally light-headedness. More significant reactions are uncommon but possible, which is why treatment is given by a doctor after assessment. All risks are explained before you consent. How will I feel afterwards? Most people feel fine and return to normal activities immediately. Some report feeling more energetic; responses vary considerably between individuals and it would be wrong to promise a particular effect. How often can I have it? That depends on the treatment and on you. Dr Selvi will advise an appropriate interval at your assessment rather than encouraging routine frequent use. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability. BOOKING Book online, or start with the free 15-minute initial consultation if you are unsure which treatment is right for you.
