Service Description

WHAT IT IS An intravenous infusion combining fluids with a blend of vitamins and minerals, formulated at assessment to suit your circumstances. Given over approximately 45 to 60 minutes under medical supervision. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT It provides hydration alongside nutrient delivery in a single session, which patients seek during periods of high demand, after illness, or when travelling frequently. The formulation is adjusted rather than being a fixed off-the-shelf drip. WHAT WE AIM FOR Rehydration and nutrient delivery under medical supervision, tailored at assessment to your individual circumstances. WHO IT SUITS · Periods of high physical or work demand · Recovery after illness · Frequent travel and disrupted routines · Wanting a doctor-supervised wellness treatment · Poor oral absorption TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 60 minutes Assessment: Medical assessment required beforehand Discomfort: Cannula insertion Downtime: None Formulation: Adjusted to you at assessment Frequency: Advised individually FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Will it cure a hangover? It provides fluids and nutrients, which helps with dehydration. It is not a medical treatment for alcohol effects and should not be relied on as one — and using infusions to enable heavy drinking is not something Dr Selvi will support. Is it better than drinking water and eating well? For most healthy people with a normal diet, honestly, not dramatically. It has a clearer role where absorption is impaired or where there is a specific deficiency. Dr Selvi will give you a straight answer at assessment rather than overselling it. Do I need a consultation first? Yes. Intravenous and injectable nutrient therapies require a medical assessment of your suitability, your medical history and your medications before any treatment is given. This is not a walk-in service. Is this a substitute for medical treatment? No. These are wellness treatments, not treatments for diagnosed medical conditions. If you have symptoms that concern you, see your GP — and tell Dr Selvi about any diagnosis or medication at your assessment. What are the risks? Bruising, discomfort at the injection or cannula site, and occasionally light-headedness. More significant reactions are uncommon but possible, which is why treatment is given by a doctor after assessment. All risks are explained before you consent. How will I feel afterwards? Most people feel fine and return to normal activities immediately. Some report feeling more energetic; responses vary considerably between individuals and it would be wrong to promise a particular effect. How often can I have it? That depends on the treatment and on you. Dr Selvi will advise an appropriate interval at your assessment rather than encouraging routine frequent use. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability. BOOKING Book online, or start with a free initial consultation if you are unsure which treatment is right for you. Prices are a guide and may vary according to your personalised treatment plan.
