It is used for warts, verrucas, some benign raised lesions and seborrhoeic keratoses — following assessment to confirm the lesion is suitable. No. Any pigmented or changing lesion is assessed before removal, because destroying a lesion without examining it removes the ability to diagnose it. If there is any suspicious feature — irregular border, uneven colour, recent change, bleeding or itching — Dr Selvi will not remove it cosmetically and will arrange dermatoscopy, ultrasound assessment or referral instead. This is a safety principle, not a sales limitation. How many sessions will warts need? Warts are stubborn and typically need two to four treatments at two to three week intervals. Anyone promising single-session clearance of a wart is not being straight with you. Is a blister normal? Yes — a blister forming within a day or two is the expected response and part of how the treatment works. Do not burst it. Keep it clean and let it settle on its own. Can it lighten my skin? Cryotherapy can cause temporary or occasionally lasting lightening of the treated area, and this risk is higher in richly pigmented skin.
