Neck Lines — Consultation
Doctor consultation for lines on the neck, with treatment if appropriate.
Service Description
WHAT THE CONSULTATION COVERS A face-to-face consultation with Dr Selvi about lines on the neck. He looks at whether the lines relate mainly to muscle activity — such as bands that show when you tense your neck — or to skin quality and laxity, because these have different options. If a prescription-only treatment is not the right approach for your neck, he will say so and may discuss skin-quality treatments instead. WHO IT MAY SUIT · Lines across the neck that concern you · Bands on the neck that are more visible when you speak or tense · Wanting to understand which options address muscle-related lines and which address skin quality · A first consultation about the neck before deciding on any treatment WHAT HAPPENS IF TREATMENT IS APPROPRIATE If a prescription-only treatment is appropriate, Dr Selvi prescribes and administers it himself after a face-to-face assessment; if it is not, he will say so and discuss alternatives. TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: Up to 60 minutes Assessment: Face-to-face, looking at the neck at rest and with movement, plus medical history and medicines Downtime: Usually little or none; avoid rubbing the area and strenuous exercise for 24 hours if treatment is given FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Can every neck line be treated this way? No. Lines caused mainly by loose or thin skin do not respond to treatments aimed at muscle activity. Dr Selvi will tell you honestly which, if any, options suit your neck. What are the risks? Temporary redness, swelling or bruising are common. The neck contains muscles used for swallowing and supporting the head, so, uncommonly, temporary difficulty swallowing or neck weakness can occur. Seek medical advice promptly if you have any difficulty swallowing or breathing. How is this different from the Nefertiti appointment? This appointment focuses on lines on the neck. The Jawline & Neck Bands (Nefertiti) appointment looks at the jawline and neck bands together. If you are unsure, Dr Selvi will advise. Who is it not suitable for? Treatment is not given to anyone under 18, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain neuromuscular conditions or medicines. Dr Selvi checks this at the consultation. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by Dr Selvi, a doctor, after a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability. BOOKING Book online, or start with a free initial consultation if you are unsure which option is right for you. Prices are a guide and are confirmed after assessment.
