Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty (Nose Filler)
Hyaluronic acid filler to smooth a bump or support the tip — a non-surgical nose job with no cutting.
Service Description
WHAT IT IS Non-surgical rhinoplasty at Dr Selvi Clinic in Brighton uses small amounts of hyaluronic acid filler to smooth the look of a bump, support a drooping tip or balance an asymmetry. It is filler, not surgery: nothing is cut or removed. This Classic Range treatment follows a free initial consultation with Dr Selvi. Filler is placed at precise points along the nose to change its outline. No bone or cartilage is altered; the shape changes because volume is added where it improves the line of the nose. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT It addresses the specific things that bother many people about their nose, such as a bump seen in profile, a tip that turns down, a slight crookedness or a dent, without an operation. Most people go back to their day afterwards, and because hyaluronic acid can be dissolved, the change is reversible. WHAT WE AIM FOR A straighter, more balanced profile using the smallest volume that does the job. A straighter nose often looks smaller from the front, although its actual size stays the same or increases slightly. WHO IT SUITS · A small to moderate bump on the bridge · A tip that droops or looks rounded · Mild asymmetry, a dip or a dent, including after an injury · A flat or low bridge · Wanting a straighter profile rather than a smaller nose TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: Around 30–45 minutes; the injections themselves take 15–20 minutes Discomfort: Numbing cream applied; the filler also contains local anaesthetic Downtime: Mild swelling for 2–5 days, some redness, occasionally a bruise Aftercare: Avoid pressure on the nose, heavy glasses and face-down sleeping for a week Final result: Around two weeks Duration: Typically 9–18 months, sometimes longer Recommended with: Pre-Filler Vascular Mapping (Doppler ultrasound), advised before every first nose treatment FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What can nose filler not change? Filler cannot make a nose smaller, narrower or shorter, and it cannot improve breathing. It cannot remove a large hump, reduce wide nostrils or a bulky tip, or correct a significantly deviated septum. If a reduction in size is your main wish, Dr Selvi will tell you at consultation that filler is not the answer. Is it the same as surgery? No. Surgery changes the bone and cartilage; filler only adds volume to change how the nose reads. The result is temporary, typically lasting 9–18 months, and the filler can be dissolved. Why is ultrasound mapping recommended? The nose has a rich and variable blood supply. A Doppler ultrasound scan locates the main vessels of the nose and marks their course, so the injection plan avoids them rather than assuming textbook anatomy. Existing filler from another clinic can be seen on the same scan. What are the risks? Swelling, bruising, tenderness and small irregularities that usually settle or can be adjusted at review. Rarely: infection, prolonged swelling or movement of product. The most serious risk is vascular occlusion, where filler blocks or presses on an artery. It can damage the skin and, in the nose specifically, carries a small risk of affecting vessels connected to the eye. It is a medical emergency, treated immediately with hyaluronidase, which is kept in clinic at all times. Is it reversible? Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if there is a complication or if you dislike the result. Can I have nose filler after a previous nose operation? Sometimes, but the risk is higher because scar tissue changes the blood supply. Dr Selvi assesses each case individually, uses ultrasound to check the tissue and declines treatment where the risk is not justified. Who will treat me?
