Service Description

WHAT IT IS Plexr is a plasma device. It ionises the gas in the air just above the skin to create a tiny plasma arc, which sublimates a microscopic point of the surface tissue without ever touching the skin and without transmitting heat to the surrounding area. The treated points contract immediately, tightening the skin between them, and healing over the following days produces further collagen. Applied to the lower eyelid and under-eye area to tighten loose, crepey skin. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Under-eye crepiness has almost no good treatment options. Filler adds volume but does nothing for skin quality and can make crepey skin look worse. Plexr tightens the skin itself, which is what the problem actually is. WHAT WE AIM FOR Tighter, smoother lower eyelid skin with reduced crepiness and fine lines, and a less tired appearance. WHO IT SUITS · Crepey, finely wrinkled under-eye skin · Loose lower eyelid skin · Filler having not helped, or having made it look worse · Mild lower lid laxity · Wanting to avoid lower blepharoplasty TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 45–60 minutes plus numbing Discomfort: Well tolerated with numbing cream Downtime: Crusting 5–7 days; significant swelling days 2–3 Time off: Allow one week First results: 7–10 days Full result: 8–12 weeks Sessions: 1–3 Duration: 2–3 years FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Will it get rid of my under-eye bags? No. True bags are herniated fat pushing forward and cannot be tightened away from the surface. Plexr treats loose, crepey skin. Dr Selvi will distinguish between the two at consultation and will tell you if Plexr is the wrong treatment for what you have. Is the swelling worse here than the upper lid? It can be. The lower lid area swells readily and swelling may extend onto the cheek. It settles from day four but do not plan anything for that week. What does the healing actually look like? Small dark carbon crusts form at each treated point within minutes. They stay for five to seven days and then fall away on their own. They must not be picked, scratched or covered with make-up — picking is the main cause of marking and it is entirely avoidable. How much swelling should I expect? Around the eyes, considerable. Swelling typically peaks on day two or three and can be enough that you would not want to be seen. It settles from day four. Plan a week away from anything social. Is it painful? Strong numbing cream is applied for around 30 to 45 minutes beforehand and most patients tolerate the treatment well. Afterwards it feels like mild sunburn for a day. Will it leave a mark? Uncommon when aftercare is followed properly. There may be temporary pinkness for a few weeks after the crusts fall. Post-inflammatory pigmentation is a genuine risk in richly pigmented skin — Dr Selvi will assess your skin type and advise honestly whether Plexr is appropriate for you. What is the aftercare? Keep the area clean and dry, do not pick the crusts, use only the products Dr Selvi provides or recommends, no make-up until the crusts have gone, and strict SPF 50 for at least three months afterwards. The sun protection is not optional. Who should not have Plexr? It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in active infection or inflammation of the area, for those prone to keloid scarring, or where there is a tendency to post-inflammatory pigmentation. Recent isotretinoin use is also a contraindication. Dr Selvi will confirm your suitability. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
