Service Description

WHAT IT IS A Doppler ultrasound scan that maps the blood vessels running beneath the skin in high-risk filler areas — the under-eye, the nose, the forehead and the glabella. Doppler shows not just where vessels sit, but the direction and speed of blood flow within them. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT The most serious complication in filler treatment is injection into or compression of an artery. Vascular anatomy varies significantly between individuals and does not follow the textbook reliably. Mapping your vessels before treatment converts an educated estimate into a known route. WHAT WE AIM FOR A personalised map of your vascular anatomy in the area to be treated, so that filler is placed along a path known to be safe for you specifically. WHO IT SUITS · Planning under-eye, nose or forehead filler · Non-surgical rhinoplasty, particularly after previous filler · Anyone who has had filler in the area before · Patients who want the highest available safety margin · Previous vascular complication or a near miss elsewhere TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 20–30 minutes Discomfort: None Downtime: None When: Before your filler appointment, or on the same day Output: A documented vascular map used to plan your treatment FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is this necessary for every filler treatment? No. It is strongly advised for the high-risk zones — nose, under-eye, forehead and glabella — and for anyone with previous filler in the area, where scar tissue and displaced product make anatomy less predictable. For lips or cheeks it is rarely needed. Does it guarantee there will be no complication? No treatment can be guaranteed. What mapping does is remove the largest single unknown, and it is one of the most meaningful safety steps available in aesthetic injecting. Dr Selvi will explain the residual risks fully before you consent. Why does anatomy vary so much? Facial arteries follow common patterns but individual routes differ considerably — studies consistently show significant variation, particularly around the nose and under-eye. Assuming the textbook route is exactly the assumption that leads to problems. Can I have the mapping and the filler on the same day? Yes, and many patients prefer this. Book the mapping first and the filler appointment immediately after. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability. BOOKING Book online, or start with a free initial consultation if you are unsure which treatment is right for you. Prices are a guide and may vary according to your personalised treatment plan.
