Service Description
WHAT IT IS Filler placed into the temple hollow at the side of the forehead, an area that loses both fat and bone volume with age, creating a sunken, skeletal appearance around the outer brow. This is the Premium Range, using established branded hyaluronic acid fillers — Juvéderm, Teoxane and Restylane — chosen for their specific gel characteristics and their long clinical track record. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Temple hollowing is one of the least recognised and most ageing changes in the face. Patients often know something looks wrong without being able to identify it. Filling the temple restores the upper facial frame and lifts the tail of the brow as a side effect. WHAT WE AIM FOR A smoothly restored temple contour, a softer transition from forehead to cheekbone, and a subtly lifted outer brow. WHO IT SUITS · Visible hollowing at the sides of the forehead · A gaunt or skeletal look in the upper face · The outer brow tail sitting lower than it once did · Weight loss that has left the face looking drawn TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 30–45 minutes Discomfort: Numbing cream applied Downtime: Minimal; possible bruising Final result: 2 weeks Duration: 12–18 months FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is the temple a risky area to inject? It contains significant vessels and requires precise depth and technique, which is why it should only be treated by an experienced doctor. Treated correctly it is a safe and highly rewarding area. Will it lift my brow? Often noticeably, yes. Restoring temple volume supports the outer brow and lifts its tail, which is one reason patients find the result so effective. What is the difference between the Classic and Premium ranges? Both use hyaluronic acid and both are administered by the same doctor. The Premium range uses branded fillers with particular gel properties — how firmly they hold shape, how they integrate with tissue, how they behave under movement — and generally a longer duration. Dr Selvi will advise which is appropriate for your anatomy and your goal; more expensive is not automatically better for every area. Is it reversible? Yes. All hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you are unhappy or if there is a complication. This is one of the main reasons hyaluronic acid remains the preferred material. Will I bruise? It is possible, particularly in vascular areas. Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil supplements for 48 hours beforehand if you can, and allow around two weeks before an important event. What are the risks? Common effects are swelling, tenderness and bruising, which settle within days. Rare but serious risks include vascular occlusion, which is why treatment should only be carried out by a trained doctor who can recognise and manage it. Dr Selvi will explain all risks fully before you consent. How soon can I see the final result? You will see an immediate change, but initial swelling means the true result appears at around two weeks. Do not judge your outcome before then, and do not seek a top-up before the two-week review. Who will treat me? All injectable treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
