Service Description

WHAT IT IS Filler placed into the tear trough hollow beneath the eye to soften the shadow and the sunken appearance that makes the eyes look tired. This is the Premium Range, using established branded hyaluronic acid fillers — Juvéderm, Teoxane and Restylane — chosen for their specific gel characteristics and their long clinical track record. The under-eye uses a specialist soft, low-water-binding formulation, because standard fillers hold too much water in this thin-skinned area. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Under-eye hollowing is one of the strongest signals of tiredness in the whole face, and concealer cannot correct a shadow caused by shape. The right product here matters more than almost anywhere else — the wrong gel produces puffiness that lasts for years. WHAT WE AIM FOR A softened tear trough, less shadow, and a rested appearance — with product placed deep and conservatively so the correction looks like anatomy rather than filler. WHO IT SUITS · Dark shadows and hollows under the eyes · Looking tired regardless of sleep · A visible step between the lower lid and the cheek · Having been told you are 'a good candidate' but wanting it done carefully TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 45–60 minutes Discomfort: Numbing cream applied Downtime: Swelling and possible bruising for up to a week Final result: 2–4 weeks Duration: 12–18 months, often longer Recommended with: Pre-Filler Vascular Mapping and Ultrasound-Guided Injection FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Why is this treatment more expensive than other areas? Because it is the most technically demanding and the least forgiving. It requires a specialist product, precise deep placement, and a doctor who will decline to treat when the anatomy is not suitable. I have puffiness rather than hollows — will this help? Possibly not, and it could make it worse. True under-eye bags caused by fat herniation are not a filler problem. Dr Selvi will assess this carefully and will tell you honestly if filler is the wrong answer. Why does under-eye filler last so long? This area has very little movement, so the product breaks down slowly. That is an advantage when the result is good — and the reason poor placement is such a persistent problem, which is why we assess carefully first. Should I have vascular mapping first? It is strongly recommended for this area. The under-eye carries a genuine risk of vascular complication and anatomy varies considerably between individuals. What is the difference between the Classic and Premium ranges? Both use hyaluronic acid and both are administered by the same doctor. The Premium range uses branded fillers with particular gel properties — how firmly they hold shape, how they integrate with tissue, how they behave under movement — and generally a longer duration. Dr Selvi will advise which is appropriate for your anatomy and your goal; more expensive is not automatically better for every area. Is it reversible? Yes. All hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you are unhappy or if there is a complication. This is one of the main reasons hyaluronic acid remains the preferred material. Will I bruise? It is possible, particularly in vascular areas. Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil supplements for 48 hours beforehand if you can, and allow around two weeks before an important event. What are the risks? Common effects are swelling, tenderness and bruising, which settle within days. Rare but serious risks include vascular occlusion, which is why treatment should only be carried out by a trained doctor who can recognise and manage it. Dr Selvi will explain all risks fully before you consent. How soon can I see the final result? You will see an immediate change, but initial swelling means the true result appears at around two weeks. Do not judge your outcome before then, and do not seek a top-up before the two-week review. Who will treat me? All injectable treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
