Service Description

WHAT IT IS Temple filler at Dr Selvi Clinic in Brighton places hyaluronic acid filler into the hollow at the side of the forehead, softening a sunken look around the outer brow and restoring the frame of the upper face. It is a Classic Range treatment, carried out by Dr Selvi after a free initial consultation. The temple loses both fat and bone volume with age. Because the change is gradual, many people sense that the top of their face looks narrower or more tired without recognising the temple as the cause. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT Temple hollowing is one of the less recognised changes in the face. Restoring it gives a smoother line from the forehead to the cheekbone and can make the upper face look less drawn. It is often considered alongside cheek treatment, as the two areas frame the face together. WHAT WE AIM FOR A smoothly restored temple contour and a softer transition from forehead to cheekbone, with volume matched between the two sides and to the rest of your face. WHO IT SUITS · Hollowing or a sunken look at the temples · A visible dip between the forehead and the cheekbone · A narrow or drawn look at the top of the face · People having cheek treatment who want the upper face in balance TREATMENT DETAILS Treatment time: Typically 30–45 minutes Discomfort: Numbing cream applied Downtime: Minimal swelling; bruising possible Final result: Around two weeks Duration: Typically 6–12 months, sometimes longer, depending on the product used Review: At two to four weeks Recommended with: Pre-Filler Vascular Mapping (Doppler ultrasound); Ultrasound-Guided Injection available FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is the temple a higher-risk area? Yes, more than many areas. The superficial temporal artery and its branches sit at variable depths and are easy to miss by touch alone. That is why Dr Selvi recommends a short Doppler ultrasound scan beforehand to map them, and may use ultrasound guidance during the injection itself. What are the risks? Swelling, tenderness and bruising are the usual effects. The rare, serious risk is vascular occlusion: filler blocking or pressing on a blood vessel and reducing the blood supply to the skin. Signs are pale or blotchy skin, or pain out of proportion to the treatment. It needs treatment at once, and hyaluronidase is kept at the clinic for that purpose. Should my cheeks be treated too? Not necessarily, but the two are often assessed together. Temples and cheeks frame the face, and restoring one without the other can leave the face out of balance. Dr Selvi will look at both and explain what would and would not add to your result. Is it reversible? Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if there is a complication, or if you are unhappy once the result has settled. How soon will I see the result? You will see a change straight away. The final result is judged at about two weeks, once any swelling has settled. Classic or Premium Temple Filler? Both use hyaluronic acid and both are given by Dr Selvi. The Premium version uses specific branded gels; the Classic Range uses established hyaluronic acid fillers. Dr Selvi will advise which suits your anatomy. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by Dr Selvi, a doctor, after a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
