The treatment energy is similar; the difference is that your tissue depths are imaged and measured first, so the settings are chosen for your face specifically. It suits patients with thin skin or an unusual anatomy particularly well. Do I get to see the ultrasound images? Yes. Dr Selvi will show you and explain what the measurements mean for your treatment plan. Is it painful? Most patients describe brief waves of heat or a deep prickling sensation as the energy is delivered. It is manageable without anaesthetic, and it stops the moment the applicator lifts. Bony areas such as the jawline and forehead are the most sensitive. How soon will I see a result? There is often a mild immediate tightening from the initial tissue response, but the real change is gradual. Collagen remodelling builds over 8 to 12 weeks, with the final result at around three months. How long does it last? Typically 12 to 18 months, depending on your age, skin quality and lifestyle. HIFU does not stop ageing — it resets the clock, and an annual session maintains the result. Is there any downtime? None in practical terms. Some patients have mild redness or a slightly tender, bruised feeling under the skin for a few days. You can wear make-up and return to work the same day. Who will treat me?
