Service Description

WHAT IT IS An intramuscular injection of vitamin C, given after a brief medical assessment — a quicker and more affordable alternative to the full intravenous infusion. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT It offers antioxidant and collagen-synthesis support without the time commitment or cost of an intravenous infusion, which makes it practical for regular use alongside skin treatments. WHAT WE AIM FOR Vitamin C delivery supporting antioxidant status and collagen synthesis, as part of a wider skin-health plan. WHO IT SUITS · Wanting vitamin C support without an IV appointment · Alongside skin treatments · Regular top-ups between infusions · Limited time or budget TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 10–15 minutes Assessment: Brief medical assessment Discomfort: A single intramuscular injection Downtime: None Frequency: Advised individually Compare with: IV Vitamin C Infusion — £169 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Injection or the IV infusion? The intramuscular injection delivers a considerably smaller dose than an infusion. If your interest is a high-dose antioxidant treatment, the infusion is the appropriate route. If you want convenient regular support alongside skin treatments, the injection is a reasonable and far cheaper option. Dr Selvi will explain the difference clearly. Is this better than an oral supplement? It bypasses gut absorption, which is the limiting factor with oral vitamin C at higher doses. For someone eating well with no absorption issues, the practical advantage is modest, and it is fair to say so. Is this a substitute for medical treatment? No. These are wellness treatments, not treatments for diagnosed medical conditions. If you have symptoms that concern you, see your GP — and tell Dr Selvi about any diagnosis or medication at your assessment. What are the risks? Bruising, discomfort at the injection or cannula site, and occasionally light-headedness. More significant reactions are uncommon but possible, which is why treatment is given by a doctor after assessment. All risks are explained before you consent. How will I feel afterwards? Most people feel fine and return to normal activities immediately. Some report feeling more energetic; responses vary considerably between individuals and it would be wrong to promise a particular effect. How often can I have it? That depends on the treatment and on you. Dr Selvi will advise an appropriate interval at your assessment rather than encouraging routine frequent use. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by a doctor, following a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability. BOOKING Book online, or start with the free 15-minute initial consultation if you are unsure which treatment is right for you.
