Service Description

WHAT IT IS Youth Vaccine / Hydroboost is the skin booster treatment at Dr Selvi Clinic in Brighton. Small amounts of a hyaluronic acid–based product are injected into the skin to improve hydration, smoothness and elasticity — for dull, dehydrated or crepey skin — without adding volume or changing the shape of your face. Hyaluronic acid holds water in the skin, creating a reservoir of moisture at a depth no cream can reach. Skin boosters are not only hyaluronic acid: depending on the product, they can also contain vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants and other skin-stimulating ingredients. Dr Selvi chooses the product according to what your skin needs. WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE IT It is often a first injectable for people who want healthier-looking skin rather than a change in shape. The effect is mainly hydration: skin that looks smoother and dewier and feels more supple, with fine dryness lines softened from within. It also sits well alongside other skin-quality treatments. WHAT WE AIM FOR Well-hydrated skin with a smoother surface, better elasticity and a healthy glow, with your features left exactly as they are. WHO IT SUITS · Dull or dehydrated skin · Fine lines caused by dryness · Rough or uneven texture · Crepey skin on the neck, décolletage or hands · A first injectable treatment · Preparing the skin before, or alongside, other treatments TREATMENT DETAILS Appointment: 20–45 minutes, depending on the areas treated Numbing: Numbing cream can be applied Technique: A grid of tiny injections across the area Downtime: Pinpoint bumps that typically settle overnight; mild redness for a few hours; bruising possible Avoid for 24 hours: Make-up, strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol First changes: Improved hydration within days, building over the following weeks Course: Planned at consultation Duration: Several months, varying with the product and your skin FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is a skin booster the same as a filler? No. Fillers add volume and contour to areas such as the lips or cheeks. Skin boosters improve the quality of the skin across an area without changing its shape. Some patients have both, for different reasons. How is it different from Profhilo or polynucleotides? All three improve skin quality. Hydroboost works mainly through hydration. Profhilo spreads through the tissue for hydration with mild firming, and polynucleotides are a repair signal suited to thin skin. Dr Selvi recommends the one that fits your skin, not the one with the most familiar name. Which areas can be treated? The face, neck, décolletage and backs of the hands are common areas. The under-eye area usually needs a different approach, which Dr Selvi will discuss. Will there be visible bumps? Yes. Small raised points are normal and typically settle overnight, so plan around anything important the following day. Who should not have it? It is not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over an active skin infection, cold sore or inflamed acne in the area, or where there is a known allergy to any ingredient. Tell Dr Selvi about blood-thinning medicines and any previous reaction to an injectable. What are the risks? Redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and short-lived. Less commonly, lumps, infection or an allergic reaction can occur, and rarely an injection can affect a blood vessel. Dr Selvi explains the risks fully before you consent. How often is it repeated? An initial course is followed by maintenance at intervals that depend on your skin and the product used. Dr Selvi sets out your plan at consultation. Who will treat me? All treatments at Dr Selvi Clinic are carried out by Dr Selvi, a doctor, after a face-to-face consultation and an assessment of your suitability.
